University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Bo02-002. A group of young Chinese men, five of whom are wearing naval style uniform. The words on their hats might be: MESSENGER OF CUSTOMS. All these men are most likely Customs staff, presumably at Ningbo.
