Photograph by William Saunders, most probably taken in Shanghai. This photograph is sometimes captioned 'Wet Weather' or 'Temps Humide'. Waterproofs were made of Chinese windmill-palm and/or rice straw. The man in the middle is holding a Chinese umbrella and a bamboo basket. See JC-s160 and JC-s162.
