Klein, Peter Collection
This collection consists of selected photographs from a Victorian photograph album that seems to have been compiled by a Royal Navy officer, documenting his travels around the world, including to Gibralter, Malta, Aden, Chile, Peru, China and Japan, c.1867-1875. The unidentified naval officer was probably on board HMS Thistle, which visited Shanghai and overwintered in Tianjin in 1872/3. Only the China-related images are online here. HPC ref: PK01.
